Breakthrough Austin seeks enthusiastic, creative, and successful high school and college students to teach and mentor classes of six or seven 7th, 8th, or 9th graders for nine weeks during the summer of 2010 on The University of Texas campus. No prior teaching experience is required. Breakthrough is a non-profit organization that helps local youth become first-generation college graduates. Austin's program dates are June 7 - August 6, 2010.
Breakthrough is a paid internship. Austin teaching fellows receive a $2000 stipend. Discounted housing available for out-of-town teachers.

Breakthrough seeks outstanding educators to serve as Mentor Teachers for Breakthrough’s young teachers (ages 16 – 23). Breakthrough Mentor Teachers set the standards of classroom teaching in our program. They play a vital role in training and supporting our faculty, refining and developing the summer curriculum, and shaping Breakthrough’s learning environment.
