A campaign to sponsor a class of 60 students in 2012
Breakthrough students – a community of over 500 future journalists, scientists, lawyers, and educators – are bound together by a precious thread. Each of these hard-working, passionate, deserving kids will be the first in their families to go to college.
The task before them is enormous. They must muscle together, over and over again throughout middle and high school, the courage and commitment to realize their dreams.
Our job at Breakthrough is straightforward – to do whatever it takes to show our young people that they are worthy while shepherding them into exciting futures we know await them. But the hard reality is that there are many more students who deserve our help than we can currently serve. So we are launching a campaign to sponsor a class of 60 Austin ISD sixth grade students entering our program in 2012.

Breakthrough 60/12
In 2012, 60 Austin ISD sixth graders will accept the challenge of becoming the first in their families to graduate from college. These young people will form a bond centered on that goal. New this year, Breakthrough 60/12 will connect this class of students to a group of donors who support their mission.
Breakthrough 60/12 supporters will contribute $180,000 for the class’ first year at Breakthrough. In the process, they will get to know the students through events and progress reports, and become part of the family that ensures these kids succeed.
