Every year, Breakthrough students beat the odds to become high school graduates and the first in their families to enroll in college.
In just over ten years, Breakthrough has made a significant and positive impact on the lives of students and families:
More than 90% of Breakthrough’s first four classes of seniors graduated from high school in four years–far exceeding the average completion rate of low-income students in Austin ISD and Manor ISD.
Breakthrough students’ college enrollment rate (74%) is significantly higher than the college enrollment rate for their Central Texas low-income peers (39%).
Breakthrough students persist in college. Approximately 90% of Breakthrough’s first two classes of students who enrolled in college persisted beyond their first year.
Breakthrough seniors are “college-ready” based on state standards at approximately twice the rate of similar non-Breakthrough students.
Breakthrough students consistently make academic progress in reading, writing, and math each summer.
Breakthrough students stay engaged. Our attrition rate of less than 10% is extremely low.
